Lake Möckeln

Lake Möckeln is located near Stuga Skog. It stretches around 48km2. The lake offers a wide variety of things to do. You can reach the lake from many different places. On walking distance from Stuga Skog you will find ‘Bölsnäs badplats’.


SUP board or kayak rental

At Stuga Skog you can rent two SUP boards, which are inflatable. The rental period goes by each week, so the supboard is usable that whole week. The price per week is €30,- per board (guests only).

You also can rent a canoe/kayak at Agundaborg, where you can make a day trip or a multiple day trip.

Hiking trails & villages

There are many hiking trails you can do, especially around the Möckeln lake. When you hike, you might pass by some nature fireplaces, where you can make a fire or enjoy the nice views. And with a lot of luck you might spot a moose, boar or deers.

If you would like to visit a village, you can go to Älmhult, Växjö or Västervik to enjoy a delicious coffee or a nice walk. To get more information, check it out below.

Bökhults badplats

Bökhult badplats can be reached from the city of Älmhult. With its sandy shore, playground and shallow water it makes it a perfect place for families. The parking area is free of charge. A restaurant can be found here.

Scenic drive around the lake

Discover the beautiful area and quiet spots during a scenic drive around the lake Möckeln. You will find nice picknick and/or swimming spots, beautiful views and forest that looks like a fairytale. There are many gravel roads in the forest around the lake, which you can discover. If you do this by sunset or sunrise, the chance to meet a moose, deer or other wild animals are really present.

A theme park based on the Pippi Longstocking stories. A world where children are always at the centre. The park offers lots of playgrounds, a big outdoor theatre and much more!

Horseback riding

Within a 25 minutes drive you can make a horseback riding tour at Hipp Islandshästutbildning, where you can make a trip to or around the lake on Islandic horses. A moment of silence, in the middle of the forest on a back of an horse!

Smålandet markaryds älgsafari

Always wanted to spot the majestic elk? At smålandet markaryds älgsafari you will!

You can choose to drive a safari by own car or by their train. Driving is at own risk. You can also visit their bison section. Visit their website to find out more.

Zip-line

Experience a unique adventure in the nature of Småland filled with adrenaline, excitement, and camaraderie. High above the treetops, you can throw yourself into Europe’s longest zipline course, with over 4,5 km of lines through the forest. Climbing park/Zip-line

A much cheaper option than Sweden zip-line and here you can also enjoy a climbing park up in the trees.

Zip-lining is also available here and is actually one of the highest rated thrill activities in the southern part of Sweden.

IKEA museum

Did you know IKEA was born in Älmhult? The founder of Ikea, Ingvar Kamprad, was born in Liatorp. His family still owns the land next to us.

Visit the IKEA museum to find out more about the history of IKEA. It has a Ikea restaurant on site as well!
